It costs a lot of money to run a football club now-a-days, more than most people think. Most chairmen subsidise the clubs out of their own pockets, but more often than not, this is not enough.
Fund raising is now becoming paramount to most club’s survival. One of the main ways of raising funds is to raffle bottles of wine and boxes of chocolates etc., at matches; however it is generally the same Parents purchasing these
and frequently re-donating them at the following home game.
The money is well used but is still not enough. The Committee members have their own ways of fund raising yet, with the best will in the world, it is usually the Parents themselves trying to coax relatives and friends. Once again this
source is limited.
This is where the Community Scheme comes into its own with Clubs working together pooling resources and experience.
Software is expensive and makes most schemes to expensive to run, leaving little or no money for the club. By sharing the cost it becomes much more viable.
The Community Scheme is run by ‘Top Draw Promotions Limited’ who specialise in raising badly needed income for Academy level clubs. In fact it has been acknowledged that some Academy level clubs would not be in existence
today had they AND you not participated in the Community Scheme.
